Virtual Healer Support Groups
The collective is facing more uncertainty and worry than ever before. This is creating a crisis of hopelessness, isolation, and despair about the future. As someone in a healing role, you are on the front lines of this crisis, but as a part of the collective, you may be experiencing hopelessness of your own.
With compassion fatigue and burnout likely already taking its toll on you and your work, this extra weight might make it hard to feel empowered or have clarity on your role in helping others. These support groups are meant to create a space to discuss these pressures, discover a path toward hope, and connect with a community of others who understand.

This series, we'll focus on Toward Psychologies of Liberation: Critical Theory and Practice in Psychology and the Human Sciences by Mary Watkins and Helene Shulman.

“This landmark book takes us on an unforgettable journey across disciplines, countries, spiritualities, and techniques to teach us twenty-first century psychologies of liberation. Authors Watkins and Shulman transform the discipline of psychology, showing us its connections to all disciplines concerned with liberating the imagination. Across international fields of difference, these authors never give up the prize: social and psychic emancipation. In doing so, they define what “decoloniality” means for the twenty-first century.”

The cost is $60 for the entire series ($7.50 per week), which includes chapter outlines and reflection prompts. Once we begin, the group will close to new members until a new series begins.
Cost: $60 ($7.50/session)

There are many books on the topic of diverse therapeutic approaches beyond the western world's, and, in fact, critique the psychological harms that come from living in colonized cultures. Some that come highly recommended (and that may become future reading group material) include:

-
Decolonizing Therapy by Dr. Jennifer Mullan
-
My Grandmother's Hands by Resmaa Menakem

-
Manufacturing Happy Citizen: How the Science and Industry of Happiness Control our Lives by Edgar Cabanas and Eva Illouz
-
Saving Our Own Lives: A Liberatory Practice of Harm Reduction by Shira Hassan
-
The Politics of Trauma: Somatics, Healing, and Social Justice by Staci Haines
If you're curious to know more about Toward Psychologies of Liberation and why I chose it for this reading group, hear me discuss it in the video.
Virtual Body-Doubling
If working alongside others helps you stay more focused and motivated than going it alone, join me -- and whoever else pops in -- during the following body-double Zoom sessions. Free to join. Come as you are, stay as long as you'd like, turn your camera on or leave it off. Mute yourself and us or chat as things come up. It's the perfect opportunity to catch up on assignments, finally get started on that project, or read that last chapter in the online presence of others.

Virtual Writing Group
Writing freely or creatively, especially in the energy field of others, can lead to transformative insights and the empowerment of self-expression. There's no right or wrong thing to write about, only what wants to come out and may only feel safe doing so on paper. In this group, you can choose to share what you've written and see how it feels to be heard in that way, or you can simply use the time, space, and prompts to write for yourself.

It's recommended that you bring paper (or a journal) and your favorite pen for an analog experience in a Zoom world.
