Therapy

If life feels like it’s gotten off course, you’ve already taken an important step by being here. Seeking growth, expansion, or meaning in your life is a commendable step but asking for help and opening up to someone new can feel vulnerable and intimidating.

 

My approach to therapy centers you as the authority on your life, with me as an empathic guide in helping you discover what's getting in the way of the life you want. Therapy is a bit of an adventure. What we discuss in our weekly sessions is best applied to, or inquired about, in your day-to-day life. This is how most people see benefits from therapy.

The process may not always feel blissful. Like most things in life, sometimes getting to the good stuff requires some confrontation with discomfort. Therapy is often more about surrendering, unlearning, and experiencing rather than "trying to change" or eradicating unpleasant feelings. Self-inquiry, self-expression, and meaning-making lend themselves to this process.

 

I work well with curious and thoughtful individuals who value their internal lives and emotional selves or want to learn to do so.

Rates

My current fee is $200 per 50-minute individual therapy session. Sessions occur weekly, as this frequency is found to be optimal, but more or less frequent sessions are available later in the process depending on clinical need. Unfortunately at this time, I do not have any open sliding scale spots.


I do reserve limited low-fee spots for Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who may be experiencing financial hardship. Please inquire about availability prior to the start of therapy if you're interested in utilizing one of these spots.

Scheduling

Once scheduled, we'll meet at the same time each week for 50 minutes. The weekly frequency of therapy is found to be optimal, but more or less frequent sessions are available depending on clinical need once we've already established a therapeutic foundation.

Please cancel your session or inquire about rescheduling at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled session start time in order to avoid being charged the full session fee.

Insurance

I'm currently not an in-network provider with any insurance company. I'm happy to supply you with a superbill each month which you can send to your insurance provider, however, reimbursement for out-of-network mental health service is determined by your specific coverage and I cannot predict or affect that determination.

Location

Sessions are held exclusively online through a secured video platform for individuals located and residing in California. I cannot meet with anyone who is outside of California.

This phone call is free of charge and will last 10-20 minutes, giving us an opportunity to get a preliminary glance at whether or not we're a good fit.
